My mother loved everyone, she was a mentor, a counselor, an educator and a librarian at L.W.Higgins for 33 years , she retired in 2003 to take on her role in community affairs, she also was the president of the civic colation in her area and on Cullier Career Center board of directors. She dedicated her life to family and friends. Anyone who knew her would say she was a strong, loving woman with a BIG HEART. She became ill in 2003 and fought a good fight, until The Most High told her "well done my faithful servant you have fought a good fight and have finished your course." She was taken home on 6-13-2010 with a glow and a peaceful smile. After her going home the school dedicated the library in her name! "THE JOAN MARIE HARRIS LIBRARY" , and a resolution was written in her honor by the Louisiana State Legislature. She is alive more than ever and guiding her three beautiful children and 7 grandchildren...She is the epitome of Love.
